I founded Glass Elevator to tackle a common problem. Capable leaders get so busy delivering that they only see what needs to change after it's cost them.
As I moved into executive roles at Amazon and Maersk, I kept seeing it around me, in my own team, and in myself. The changes I needed only became obvious after I'd missed the scope I wanted, the rating I expected, or the chance to do what I thought was right.
An executive coach changed that by giving me clarity on where I stood and what my real opportunities were. I stopped reacting to what was in front of me and started shaping what came next. It's why I coach. Glass Elevator exists so you get that clarity sooner.
That's the idea behind the name. In a glass elevator, you can see where you are and where you're going as you rise.
